This summer we declare Berlin our territory. The invasion begins in Wedding.
We take no hostages. There will be blood, sausage and art.
Better leave your bikes at home.

We come from Poland, a place about a 100 km away from here. You might have been hunting for some cheap cigarettes, alcohol and other random items at the gas stations close to the border, but have you ever wondered what's hiding in the wild and dangerous forests of the country that’s just a stone’s throw away?

Imagine a place where the Pope is the biggest pop icon ever, street riots over a wooden cross drag on for months, the capital city has only one subway line, people get arrested for drinking in public and others build a giant Jesus statue in the middle of nowhere. On top of that, a weird language is spoken there that has no articles but seven cases and it doesn’t come close to anything you've heard in your life. Sounds crazy? Now try to imagine being born there.

We've had enough of isolation in our hidden forest settlements. It's high time we opposed underfunding, anonymity and rejection. We're leaving our large families, crops and parishes to take over your fancy clubs, coffee houses and art venues. We show you why absurd is the new cool and why suffering for other nations can be entertaining.

Action supported by:

+ Female performance group TERAZ POLIŻ! (LICK IT NOW!). The girls managed not to get married and pregnant during their teenage years. They slipped through the fingers of the Inquisition to traverse the country, fight the patriarchy and sacrifice young men to the Goddess. Do not confuse with feminists. No one has ever heard about those in Poland.

+ ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER - He wasn't born in Buenos Aires. He did not run away from home. His mother did not commit suicide. He has never lived in an Amsterdam squat. He does not ride a bicycle. He is not interested in art. He is not a vegetarian. He does not play the guitar nor does he want to play the ukulele. He does not have a problem with his sexual identity. He does not want to be just another photographer. He does not want you to come to his show.

+ The participants of an underground action under the code name PEEPED. They're going to present the fascinating materials from the city monitoring, exposing the bloodcurdling truth about the Polish streets. Do take a look before the secret agents hunt them down.

+ Guerillas gathered around the PAPIERY.ORG - a website on self-publishing in photography. If anybody has ever told you to go and PUBLISH YOURSELF, you will surely be interested in how they have taken this piece of advice to heart. Entire Polish villages saved up to print the books they're going to present and sell, so you better bring your shiny euros to support them.

+ DON'T CRITICIZE WHAT YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND - a raiding party consisting of young Polish visual artists. Discover how they do and how they can. Karczmarczyk, Walesiak, Mendel, Czajka, Grabowski and other complicated Polish surnames you won't forget this time.

POLAND IS NOT YET LOST.
